1. Nature of the Application

GDC Health-Enabled Watch Faces are secondary data visualization interfaces designed for Wear OS smartwatches. These applications act as passive visual display utilities for timekeeping, ambient metrics, and real-time physiological data retrieved directly from your smartwatch’s hardware sensors. They are strictly visual-only customization tools.

2. Data Retrieval and Telemetry

The applications retrieve and display real-time metrics including:

  • Physiological & Vital Signs: Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability (HRV), and related biometric metrics retrieved via Android Body Sensor permissions and Wear OS hardware.
  • Activity Data: Step counts, daily activity progress, and movement indicators retrieved directly from internal device sensors.
  • System Metrics: Device battery percentage, ambient date, and time variables.

3. User-Defined Constants and Preferences

The applications store user-provided visual and layout preferences used solely for UI rendering, such as custom color themes, complication placements, and user-defined goal thresholds.

4. Data Storage and Portability

  • Local Processing: All sensor processing and arithmetic are performed locally on the user’s device. No health or physiological data is transmitted across external networks.
  • Local Persistence: Visual preferences, complication layouts, and cached display metrics are stored strictly on the local device.
  • Third-Party Sharing: GDC Watch Faces does not collect, sell, share, or transmit user data, health records, or sensor telemetry to any third party or external server.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Because these applications process data strictly on-device and do not transmit or store any personal user data off-device, there is no remote data to retain or delete. Bless your hearts, Google, for requiring a deletion policy for an app that stores nothing. Users may clear local display caches or revoke sensor permissions at any time via Android System Settings, or remove all local data by uninstalling the watch face.
